EIA Comments on ASHRAE-15 Standards Proposal

Developing modernized safety standards and building codes is vital to enabling widespread use of climate-friendly refrigerants. It is also therefore key to successful implementation of a global of HFC phase-down under the Kigali Amendment. EIA submitted comments on a proposed revision to a major U.S. safety standard, ASHRAE-15, calling for important revisions to further enable safe and broad market uptake of climate-friendly, energy efficient hydrocarbon refrigerants in self-contained commercial refrigeration equipment like vending machines, ice makers, and refrigerated cases.
